In the circumstances created by the coronavirus pandemic, the Society has had to suspend work on our next production, Les Liaisons dangereuses by Christopher Hampton, directed by Lucy Jepson. We are now making plans to stage the play in the week beginning 20 September 2020.
The Vicomte de Valmont vows to seduce a married woman of renowned virtue in this adaptation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ 1782 novel. Valmont’s former lover, the Marquise de Merteuil, encourages this endeavour and offers him a reward that he simply cannot refuse, capturing those around them in a web of seduction and betrayal.
