Over more than fifty years, Sheffield University Drama Society has presented a broad spectrum of plays, from Shakespeare to Twenty-First Century, from tragedy to comedy and everything in between.
One of the group’s hallmarks has been the outstanding quality of the costumes that have featured in its extensive repertoire. Authentic and exquisitely finished gowns and outfits to dress a wide variety of theatrical productions have become a key component in our reputation for visually stunning shows.
We have built up a costume collection which is the envy of theatre groups in Sheffield and the surrounding areas. However, in recent years we have had to vacate the premises where this collection was formerly stored; and the cost of commercial storage has become a serious drain on our resources – to the point where the survival of the society is at risk.
We are in search of an alternative to commercial premises.
We URGENTLY need a space where our costumes can be stored and preserved for future use.
If you or any of your acquaintances know of a suitable dry, safe space we ask you please to contact us as soon as possible. The future of SUDS depends on our finding a home for our collection.
